Legal drafts

VST- POS / Ariestotle. Last working copy: 4 September 2026.

DRAFT — not legal advice. These pages are working copy for VST Services and the licensed shop. An attorney must review and finalise them before they are treated as a contract, a POPIA notice, or a data processing agreement.

What these drafts cover

  • Licence — software right: edition + seats. Not a support plan and not a go-live pack.
  • Privacy — how VST handles installation and support data; the shop remains the responsible party for customer and till data.
  • Operator — VST as operator (processor) where the shop is the responsible party (controller).
  • Disclaimers — printed documents, payments (especially EFT), backups, and hardware.

Limitation of liability in a later signed contract is not a promise that product defects will never be fixed. Defects in the licensed software remain in-scope for the licence (bugs-only, no SLA) even when no support plan is sold.

Three invoices, not one blob

  1. Licence — edition and concurrent billable seats. Recurring.
  2. Go-live pack — once per shop or branch: install, import, tills, first cash-up, SOP. Not support.
  3. Support plan — optional retainer or prepaid hours. Licence without a plan means bugs-only, no promised response time.
